Alfred Eisenstaedt. Tczew, 6 dicembre 1898 - Massachusetts, 24 agosto 1995 è stato un fotografo e fotoreporter tedesco naturalizzato statunitense.
Era solito usare una macchina fotografica Leica M3 con un obiettivo fotografico da 35 mm.
È ricordato principalmente per la sua foto dei festeggiamenti in Times Square il giorno della vittoria contro il Giappone (15 agosto 1945)
Eisenstaedt è stato per quasi quarant'anni il fotografo di punta della prestigiosa rivista americana Life, mentre Life deve molta  parte della sua popolarità all'efficacia narrativa e descrittiva delle immagini di Eisenstaedt.
Fino al 1972, anno in cui Life sospende le pubblicazioni settimanali, Eisenstaedt riceve otre 2500 incarichi e realizza fotografie per più di 90 copertine.
